On July 28, Apple became the world's most valuable company again, with a market capitalization of $4.95 trillion, surpassing Nvidia's $4.77 trillion. Nvidia's stock fell nearly 5% on Monday as investors expressed concerns over the hefty costs of AI infrastructure development. Apple's stock rose by 1% and is set to release its earnings report after the market closes on Thursday. Nvidia had maintained the top global market value since June 2025, briefly reaching a market cap of $5 trillion last October. So far in 2026, Nvidia's stock has only increased by 4%, while Apple's has risen by 24%. Apple's cautious approach to AI capital expenditures, favoring leasing computing power over building its own infrastructure, has been well received by investors.
