The White House Describes Trump's Pardon of CZ as Having Undergone "Extremely Serious" Review
BlockBeats News, November 5th, according to TheBlock, White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt stated during a press conference on Tuesday local time that President Trump's pardon of CZ underwent "extremely serious" review. Levitt clarified President Trump's previous remarks in a CBS News interview: "President Trump's comments indicated that he has no personal relationship with CZ, and the pardon process went through the most serious consideration. We have a very thorough and serious review process involving the Department of Justice and the White House Legal Counsel's Office."
BlockBeats previously reported that during an interview with CBS News, when asked why he pardoned CZ, Trump said, "I don't know who he is. I know he was sentenced to like four months in prison or something. I also heard this was Biden's political persecution."
The host further questioned, saying, "In 2025, Binance facilitated a $20 billion World Liberty Financial stablecoin transaction. Then you pardoned CZ. How do you view the suspicion of this 'pay-to-play' scenario?"
Trump replied, "I don't know about what you're saying; I can only tell you this. My sons are very interested in cryptocurrency. I'm glad they're interested because it could be a great industry. I think it's good. You know, they're in business, not in government." World Liberty Financial Corporation denied involvement in this pardon action.
