Swiss CMTA Launches CMTAT Confidential Introducing Privacy Trading Features

By: rootdata|2026/07/29 13:55:18

The Swiss Capital Market and Technology Association (CMTA) has launched CMTAT Confidential, introducing privacy balance and transfer features to its securities token standard framework CMTAT, supported by Zama Protocol. CMTAT has been used for the tokenization of equity, debt instruments, and other securities. This upgrade retains existing compliance controls (such as whitelisting and freezing) while ensuring that investors' balances and transfer amounts remain private by default. Zama Protocol employs Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) technology, allowing smart contracts to compute encrypted data directly without decryption, while also incorporating Multi-Party Computation (MPC) and Zero-Knowledge Proofs to ensure that authorized parties can still maintain the necessary oversight required by regulators. The code was developed by Geneva-based digital asset infrastructure company Taurus and underwent security auditing by OpenZeppelin.
