Robinhood spokesperson: OpenAI is indirectly held through an SPV, and the price of OpenAI tokens is linked to the value of shares held by the SPV
Odaily News In response to OpenAIs urgent rebuttal that it had not authorized Robinhood and that the so-called OpenAI tokens were not OpenAI shares, a Robinhood spokesperson said that OpenAI tokens would provide investors with the opportunity to invest in OpenAI indirectly through Robinhoods ownership in the SPV, which means that Robinhood does not directly hold OpenAI shares, but only indirectly holds shares through an SPV, and then links the price of OpenAI tokens to the value of OpenAI shares held by the SPV.
At present, none of the three trading platforms, Robinhood, Bybit and Kraken, have provided U.S. stock tokenization services to U.S. customers, while Coinbase has submitted a pilot application to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to provide stock tokenization trading services to U.S. customers, which currently needs to be approved by the SEC.
