How long will it rain in Buenos Aires and what will the weather be like during the week

Bad weather has already settled in the City of Buenos Aires, and the National Meteorological Service (SMN) has issued an orange alert for storms for this Friday, July 31.

Rain began in the morning and will intensify as the hours go by. Additionally, it may be accompanied by gusts of wind, electrical activity, and occasional hail.

According to the forecast, instability will continue until Saturday, while from Sunday a marked drop in temperature is expected.

The SMN maintains an orange alert for the City of Buenos Aires, Greater Buenos Aires, and La Plata. The rest of the province of Buenos Aires remains under yellow alert, as rain is also expected but of lesser intensity.

Precipitation began to be recorded during the morning, and according to the agency, the period of greatest intensity will occur as the hours progress. For the afternoon, strong storms are anticipated, with a probability of precipitation between 40% and 70%, which will increase to 70% and 100% during the night.

The agency warned that the phenomena may be accompanied by heavy rainfall in short periods, intense electrical activity, gusts of wind between 42 and 50 km/h, and occasional hail.

Accumulated precipitation values could range between 30 and 50 millimeters, although they may exceed this in some areas.

The temperature will range between a minimum of 14°C and a maximum of 21°C, with prevailing winds from the north between 23 and 31 km/h, which will then shift to the west towards the end of the day with the advance of the cold front.

In light of the warning, the SMN recommends taking preventive measures: avoid going out during the moments of greatest intensity, do not take out the trash to prevent blockages in the drains, clean drains and gutters, unplug appliances if water enters the home, close doors and windows, and secure objects that may be displaced by the wind.

Additionally, it advises staying away from flood-prone areas, not entering flooded streets, charging cell phones in advance, and saving local numbers for Civil Protection, Firefighters, and Police.

The weather will remain unstable in the early hours of Saturday, August 1. The SMN forecasts isolated storms during the early morning and morning, with a probability of precipitation between 40% and 70%. By the afternoon, it will drop to 0% - 10%, and no rain is expected at night.

The day will have a minimum of 14°C and a maximum of 19°C. In the second half of the day, the sky will begin to clear up, and conditions will gradually improve due to the arrival of a cold and dry air mass.

On Sunday, August 2, no precipitation is expected. It will be a day with a partially cloudy sky, a minimum of 10°C and a maximum of 15°C, accompanied by moderate winds.

After the storm passes, the weather will remain stable throughout the next week. The SMN forecast does not anticipate new significant rains at least until Thursday, August 6:

• On Monday, August 3, a day with a partially cloudy sky is expected, a minimum of 11°C and a maximum of 17°C, with no significant chances of precipitation.
• On Tuesday, August 4, there will be a minimum temperature of 10°C and a maximum of 17°C, along with light winds.
• For Wednesday, August 5, the outlook will be similar, with a minimum of 11°C, a maximum of 17°C, and a sky between partially cloudy and slightly cloudy, with no rain expected.
• On Thursday, August 6, a slight rise in temperature is expected, with values ranging from 12°C to 18°C. The sky will continue with variable cloudiness and no precipitation is forecasted.
