Crypto-Friendly States Rise in U.S. Entrepreneurship Rankings

The March 2026 update of the Draper Innovation Index shows that regulations and incentives for crypto assets have changed the entrepreneurship landscape in the U.S. Texas has risen to fourth place due to an increase in new company formations focused on crypto and blockchain funding. Oklahoma has climbed to 15th place with a strong rise in startup formations and crypto-related investments. California has dropped to 31st, while New York has fallen to 49th. This highlights the importance of founder-friendly policies alongside economic size. Despite being ranked 40th, New Hampshire placed third in the index. The state's entrepreneur-friendly tax structure has been effective in attracting entrepreneurs. The Draper Innovation Index also noted changes in the international rankings, with Canada dropping from third to fifth place. It was stated that tax policies and approaches to digital assets are becoming increasingly decisive in entrepreneurship ecosystems.
