Central Bank of Russia Says No Regulatory Restrictions on Overseas Transfer of Crypto Assets

Elvira Nabiullina, the Governor of the Central Bank of Russia, stated that there are currently no additional regulatory restrictions for individuals and institutions transferring cryptocurrency from Russia to abroad. However, the related assets lack legal protection, and investors cannot rely on their domestic legal system to safeguard their rights in the event of disputes or losses. The regulatory authorities have not yet imposed strict controls on cross-border crypto fund flows but emphasize that legal and compliance risks must be borne by the investors themselves.
