AI Agents Disappoint in Crypto Trading, Grok Records $3.69 Gains

In an autonomous trading competition, several artificial intelligence agents were tested with a portfolio of $999 over a week. The majority of the models showed negative performance, except for Grok, developed by xAI, which achieved a gain of $3.69, representing a return of about 0.37%. Grok did not make any reallocation of its portfolio during this period, raising questions about the effectiveness of active management. The results suggest that even advanced AI models struggle to generate alpha, calling into question the advantage of active strategies compared to more measured approaches. Historical data shows that many active managers underperform their benchmarks over the long term. In response to these mixed performances, human strategies based on less frequent signals appear to offer better results. Offers like Crypto Strategist, which prioritize clear and long-term investment decisions, contrast with the hyperactivity of AI agents.
